Plan a Trip!
We work with over 50 schools and youth organizations each year and offer programs that students say was the highlight of their school years. Almost 7,000 children participate in our programs each year, and we have been running youth programs that focus on respect and personal growth for over 100 years.
Our Program Menu can be found here
Our beautiful 235 acre camp has a wide variety of lesson and activity areas – from aquatic ecology and forest ecology to archaeology and sustainable agriculture through our partner Pennypack Farm . Pennypack Farm is an organic Community Sponsored Agriculture farming facility that we use to teach amazing farm lessons. We also have an environmental center with many great displays and of course our own camp critters.
Science – Our lessons
We focus on teaching science through inquiry – a student centered hands-on approach. Students work collaboratively in new social settings, exploring different environments, and sharing new experiences with their peers. Students leave the program with a new sense of personal responsibility, independence and understanding of the natural world around them. This learning model supports the Next Generation Science Standards approach to student understanding of science concepts.

Our Team Building activities are designed to welcome inclusion without coercion, and see how team spirit can be naturally grown. Team challenges are carefully selected activities where students are required to work together as a group in order to achieve a common goal, which cannot be achieved individually. With over 25 stations on our Group Challenge field, these activities can be adapted to be more or less challenging, depending on the group dynamics.

Day Trip Programs
Day trips are fast paced and jam-packed with activities. A typical day trip typically includes two hours at the team building course tackling small group challenges, a picnic lunch then one or two environmental activity options such as visiting Pennypack Farm, shelter building, animal tracking or meeting the camp critters at our environmental center. Most day trips are scheduled around bus availability. Students usually spend 9.30am -2.15pm on our site. Some schools stay with us for extended day trips and enjoy dinner with us before heading home around 8pm.
We can take up to 150 students in our day trip programs.
Here is a link to our Basic DAY TRIP schedules
We offer two day trips (spend one night at camp) or three day trips (with 2 nights at camp). Overnight trips include a customized selection of activities that combines group challenges, environmental education and incredible learning opportunities that capture those “intangibles” such as being away overnight with your best friends.
Before an overnight trip, we will come to your school to do a PowerPoint presentation for parents and students if desired . A full Planning Guide and sample forms are available to make trip planning easier for school faculty. Click the links to sample schedules are below:

“Give the pupils something to do, not something to learn; and the doing is of such a nature as to demand thinking; learning naturally results.” ― John Dewey
