There is a great diversity to our staff, who are of varied ages, nationalities, and backgrounds. Our camp community is a very accepting one. This diversity and inclusiveness in our camp community helps children to learn about other people; it’s a great way to prepare them for the larger world out there!
Teacher Naturalists Positions
Outdoor School spring and fall staff live in dorm-style accommodations, and do not have overnight responsibilities for students. The school faculty have complete responsibility for overnight/cabin supervision.
The basic Outdoor School program involves leading Group Challenge activities, large group games, and environmental education lessons with groups of 8 – 15 students, with additional support from teachers.
Lessons include sustainable agriculture, animal adaptations, wetland and forest ecology. We love the ever-changing list of activities brought by our staff ; our program is always evolving.
Experience Needed:
- Experience in camping, education, recreation, or youth work referred.
- At least one years’ post high school “life” experience such as college, travel, volunteering
- At least 6 months experience working with children or youth
- Age 19 years or more
- Previous experience with environmental education, ecology, biology, agriculture, animal husbandry or other relevant job/college background
Kitchen and Maintenance Positions
- We have numerous Food Service positions for applicants age 15 and older.
- Maintenance positions are available for applicants age 18 and older.
- Daytime, after-school, weekday and weekend positions are available. Many local high school students work with us and enjoy the fun atmosphere!
